Op 25 en 26 maart organiseerde Solutions Centre de trainersconference “To teach is to learn twice”. De organisatoren waren Insoo Kim Berg, Coert Visser en Arnoud Huibers, die ook samen Solutions Centre hebben opgericht. Een inspirerende conferentie waar het informatiegehalte hoog lag. Hartelijk dank Insoo, Coert en Arnoud voor dit initiatief!
Er was een grote varieteit aan presentaties en workshops, waarbij het trainen in oplossingsgericht werken in diverse contexten werd verdiept. Enkele toepassingsgebieden die de revue passeerden: trainen in oplossingsgericht veranderen, coachen, leidinggeven en opleiden en ontwikkelen.
Tijdens de workshop oplossingsgericht management genereerden de deelnemers tips over wat goed werkt bij het trainen van managers in oplossingsgericht management. Enkele van die tips vindt u hier…
What works well in training managers in solution focused management?
- Share know-how and stories
- Sharing stories about why people that like them as a manager
- Sending problems back, and getting them to return with a solution
- Walk your talk
- Act instead of explain
- Find out who has the problem: the employee or the manager
- Looking for opportunities to genuinly compliment staff
- Using their own cases and letting them practice on standard cases
- The power of compliments
- Metaphor of the torch: seeking examples of where the desired behaviour happens already
- What do you do that helps them to get the job done?
- What are you already doing that works well & that you would find helpful to continue
- If you want to go fast: go slow
- One manager plays a difficult employee, the others ask one SF question each. Each question is briefly discussed
- I explain what the effect is of the manager’s behaviour on the employee and if this is the effect that he wants
- What do you value most about your own way of managing?
- Knowing what to overlook
- Look out for good examples
- Acknowledgement, motivational-interviews
- If you want to get the best out of somebody, aim at the best that there is
- Ask questions instead of giving advice
- Communicate the attitude & the approach of SF
- Look how your employees make management & leadership possible
